TQ3280 : 39-40 Lombard Street
taken 7 years ago, near to City of London, Great Britain

39-40 Lombard Street
One of the most sumptuous buildings in the City, which is saying something. There is scarcely a square inch without decoration. It was designed by F. & H. Francis, built by a Mr Myers and carved by F.G. Anstey, all for the City Offices Company in 1866-68. Arched windows in the rusticated ground floor, first floor aedicules, and all manner of carvings above. See here TQ3280 : Detail of 39-40 Lombard Street (1) and here TQ3280 : Detail of 39-40 Lombard Street (2) for detail. Grade II listed.
