Tower of St Mary's Church
Tower of St Mary's Church
The sturdy west tower dates from the 14th century. The animal gargoyle on the south parapet is matched by a similar one on the north. The tower was once topped by a short spire but this was taken down for safety in the 19th century, probably at the same time that brick patching was carried out.
