Drumantrae Bay
Drumantrae Bay
Just about at the edge of the seaweed covered rocks that dominate the shoreline at this point on Drumantrae Bay. Ahead is Luce Bay which was used from the 1930s to the 1990s as a bombing range for training purposes by RAF aircraft (and later allied aircraft on a leasing basis) based at West Freugh Airfield. Discharged bombs were retrieved by a retired minesweeper based at Drummore.
