Up in the cap, the brake wheel (apart from the centre shaft) has been rebuilt. The friction sack hoist is to the right (picture available on request).
Old Buckenham Mill
Old Buckenham Mill is a preserved towermill built in 1818. Originally it had 8 common sails but now has four patent sails. Slightly famous in the mill world for having the largest circumference in Britain, it houses five stones. The granary next door had four pairs driven by a steam (later oil) engine. Inside is a large spur wheel bolted together in 12 parts. The mill is open several times a year.
