SX9390 : Remains of Countess Weir Paper Mills

taken 7 years ago, near to Countess Wear, Devon, Great Britain

Remains of Countess Weir Paper Mills
Remains of Countess Weir Paper Mills
There were extensive paper mills operational on this site from 1638 to 1885 and there are still substantial water courses, the mill house and mill yard cottages to be seen. Surprisingly, the AIA guide to Devon's industrial archaeology completely omits this site.
