NY2802 : The dam at Greenburn Reservoir

The dam at Greenburn Reservoir
The dam at Greenburn Reservoir
A lot of work went into constructing this earth and stone dam. Water from the reservoir ran down the beck and along leats to power water wheels at the nearby copper mine. The pool is now silting up and being choked by vegetation and the dam provides a dry perch for the sheep. Rough Crags beyond.
