This statue of Sir Steve Redgrave winner of five consecutive rowing medals in the Olympic Games - 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996 & 2000 - is in Higginson Park in front of the Leisure Centre, and was unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II on 10 May 2002 during the year of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
