I think this is Trametes versicolor, otherwise known as Turkey-tail Fungus (a name which sounds as if it has been imported from the U.S.) but it could also be another species of the same genus: T. gibbosa. Apparently the distinguishing feature is the shape of the pores (on the underside) - something I didn't think to check.

The shot was taken along the sandy byway through the woods, south of the River Wey.
