Manuel Works demolition site
Manuel Works demolition site
The Manuel Works refractory began production in 1930 and shipped bricks all over the world from nearby Grangemouth Docks. It was a major employer for the villagers of Whitecross. Now closed, the Works is being demolished and the site will soon become a housing development. The elderly couple are walking along an approved right of way which leads to Kirk Bridge on the Union Canal.
