The Honourable Julian Berry was the younger son of the 1st Viscount Camrose LinkExternal link. He was educated at Eton and joined the Royal Horse Guards (The Blues) in 1939, rising in time to be its commanding officer. He was Silver Stick LinkExternal link from 1960 to 1964, a JP LinkExternal link from 1966 and Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire from 1983. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal LinkExternal link in 1945; and the OBE (military) LinkExternal link in 1959.
