NO0148 : Water pipes
taken 7 years ago, near to Dowally, Perth And Kinross, Great Britain

Water pipes
These 560mm diameter pipes (part of the Atholl Hydro Dowally Burn development which will produce 436 kilowatts) will not long remain a feature of the countryside here. They will shortly go underground and with minimum environmental impact this scheme and another on the nearby Broom Burn are designed to make a significant contribution, over their estimated 80-year lifetime, to the country's sustainable energy demands. Preferable to wind turbines?
