Ben Lawers and Loch Tay
Ben Lawers and Loch Tay
A view from the South Loch Tay road of Ben Lawers. This illustrates the principle behind Hugh Munro's classification of hills. The two peaks, Beinn Ghlas and Beinn Lawers are divided by a high col, and on purely drop grounds, Ghlas is clearly a top of Lawers. Look at the pair from afar and they are clearly two hills. Of course this is purely subjective and the subjectivity has led to some pretty heated arguments and the deeply flawed 1997 revision.
