Mystery gateway on town street
Mystery gateway on town street
Between the A14 bridge and a tiny house (probably a cut-off end of terrace) on Fornham Road, a town residential street, there exists a strong wire fence with a locked gate. Where might it lead? A map reveals the answer - a path leads to a large wild area that includes settling ponds for the sugar factory.

Strangely the A14 bridge was built with space for a dual carriageway that was never built or even wanted - the extra space just provides a very wide pavement, partly visible in the foreground.
