Berney Arms Station loses its reputation as the quietest railway station in England!
Berney Arms Station loses its reputation as the quietest railway station in England!
With only two trains each way per day (weekdays - a few more at weekends) and only foot access, Berney Arms station is a remarkable survivor on the national network. However, a popular use of the station is for people to arrive on the mid-day train, have a leisurely lunch at the nearby Berney Arms Inn, and then return on the mid-afternoon train. Some people have been known to be too leisurely over lunch and miss the return train. They're then faced with a four-mile walk to either Reedham or Great Yarmouth - unless they can hitch a lift from a friendly passing boat on Breydon Water!
