Spread Eagle Sign
Spread Eagle Sign
This is the highly decorative inn sign outside the SP7005 : The Spread Eagle Hotel, Thame which can also be seen in SP7005 : Spread Eagle frontage.. This sign was designed and painted in the 1920s by Dora Carrington for the then owner of the hotel, John Fothergill, who made both the hotel and the town of Thame quite famous in his book "Diary of an Innkeeper".
