Refuge Stone in wall at Witchcraig Hill
Refuge Stone in wall at Witchcraig Hill
The refuge stone in the wall on top of Witchcraig is one of four refuge stones set at one mile from Torphichen Preceptory. This marked the area where people were safe from the law or pursuers. The cross on the west face is imprinted into the slab but stands out on the east face.
