The Old Lifeboat House
The Old Lifeboat House
Next door to SD3727 : Lytham Windmill, is The Old Lytham Lifeboat House, a Grade II listed building which is constructed largely of cobblestones, these being a feature of many Lytham buildings.

The first lifeboat in Britain was stationed at Lytham, in 1851, by the Shipwrecked Mariners’ Society which later became the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. For many years, the Old Lifeboat House was a museum, telling the story of Lytham lifeboats from 1851 to the present day. It is hoped that the museum, which closed in 2004 will be re-opened with a new exhibition (LinkExternal link )
