This is a Class 140 Railbus DMU, developed by British Rail engineering between 1979 and 1981. The railcar frames were modified Leyland bus chassis components. It certainly brought back memories of days gone by. The journey is well worth making, as the line passes through varied and attractive scenery, and photographers can stand at open windows.
