St Leonards on Sea United Reformed Church
St Leonards on Sea United Reformed Church
Grade II Listed. Founded 1863 by James Griffin, built by William Habershon and his pupil Edgar Brock with sandstone from Ore. Originally had a spire which was destroyed in the Great Storm of 1987 ( I remember this happening, as I lived nearby!) The church continued to deteriorate and is now closed. I believe the original Holditch/Willis organ was broken up and parts sold to a local organ builder.
