River Thames: Rainham Marshes and The Diver sculpture
The Diver was designed by the sculptor John Kaufman (1941 - 2002) who was inspired by the stories told to him by his grandfather who worked as a diver in the London Docks at the turn of the 19th/20th century. After 5 years of planning it was installed in the mudflats at the river's edge in 2000. Please see the dedicated website here LinkExternal link
