Poem on the riverside wall near River Thames

This Graffiti style poem is spaced all along this section of the concrete wall of the Thames path between Thamesmead and Erith.

Distracting the walker from the non-interesting industrial estate.

"We went to work on a rowing boat
unwrap newspaper, jam sandwiches and cold tea,
bare feet against river boulders

Fat sugary blackberry pies - purple fingers

bread and butter pudding ate the price of the fare

so they river-walked home"

Thames Path

This National Trail is 184 miles (294 km) long. Following the River Thames from its source in the Cotswolds almost to the sea finishing at the Thames Barrier in Greenwich.
The trail keeps to the banks of the river most of the route.
