The Dodson grave slab, Littledale
The Dodson grave slab, Littledale
This is the upper section of the only grave slab evident next to the old church. It is for John Dodson who died aged 18 at nearby Littledale Hall in 1851. His father (also John) is memorialised on the lower part of the slab. He died at Eastbourne in 1890 aged 84 on his 59th wedding anniversary . It isn't stated where he is buried so it may not be here nor is the whereabouts of his wife given. Fragments of another grave slab are sitting on this slab but I didn't study these.
