Segregated shared use path and advanced stop line reservoir near Birmingham University's South Gate, Bournbrook

Approaching the junction the white line delineating the segregated part of the cycle path along Bristol Road gives out. Any wanting to avoid mixing it with pedestrians leaving and entering the campus, and the bus shelter blocking the way, should rejoin the carriageway here - right into the advanced stop line reservoir at the traffic lights. This is far from ideal (although at least the reservoir is quite large, which might help cyclists not ending up in a truck-driver's blind spot).

Very little thought seems to have gone into this facility, particularly for cyclists wishing to turn right at the traffic lights on to Bournbrook Road. Note that the first stop line goes right to the kerb and there is no kerbside filter lane to allow cyclists on the carriageway to legally enter the reservoir (as it's against the law to cross the first stop line when the lights are on red). The only legal way in is from the cycle path.
