SP0483 : Underneath the railway bridge - Selly Oak New Road, Phase 2

Underneath the railway bridge - Selly Oak New Road, Phase 2
Underneath the railway bridge - Selly Oak New Road, Phase 2
The new relief road passes beneath the Worcester and Birmingham Canal and the Cross City railway line. The new bridges were constructed first with the cutting excavated beneath them later. To the left of the photographer position is a new roundabout - Queen Elizabeth Island. Approaching the roundabout the segregated shared used paths on either side of the new road lose their delineating white lines, and the paths become unnecessarily narrow, considering this is an entirely new road.
