International Press Centre, Shoe Lane
Yet another tower by Richard Seifert & Partners, this one dating from 1968-75. The framework consists of brown pre-cast panels with rounded corners into which the windows are deeply set.
Buildings of this era are currently deeply reviled - an application has been lodged to demolish this and replace with another tower. Perhaps there are issues with this one of which I am unaware, but it seems hasty to demolish so many buildings after only 30-40 years of life. There was a time, not so long ago, when Victorian architecture was also deeply reviled...
