The Brede Giant 1537
The Brede Giant 1537
Sir Goddard Oxenbridge was said to have been 7 feet tall and was known as the Brede Giant. Sculpted in Caen stone, he is represented in full armour. A man of peace and deeply religious, the Oxenbridge family were always generous benefactors to the church. On the side of the tomb are the arms of Oxenbridge, Etchingham, Dacre and Fiennes.
