Sunken narrowboat in Billinge Green Flash, Cheshire
Billinge Flash is one of several lagoons along this part of the Trent and Mersey Canal, caused by salt mining subsidence. Boat crews will be wise to keep well to the towpath side, or disaster may strike! :-)

Is this what remains of narrowboat "Brill", built in 1933 by Fellows, Morton and Clayton? LinkExternal link

The flash was used for dumping boats in the 1960s when most commercial traffic stopped. See this interesting web page: LinkExternal link
