A decidedly ancient looking piece of equipment, but the state of the rollers shows that it is still in use. On the other side it carries a cast plate lettered 'W T PALMER % Co ENGINEERS THURMASTON LEICESTER'. It appears to be typical of the sort of specialist product turned out by smallish engineering firms. It probably uses a proprietary engine from a firm like Lister or Perkins, but there was no way of seeing.
