near to Sharlston, Wakefield, Great Britain

High-voltage poles along the edge of former spoil heap
High-voltage poles along the edge of former spoil heap
North of Sharlston High Street. A distribution circuit of probably 33,000 Volt 3-phase overhead electrical cables. Although mounted on wooden poles like telegraph poles, these are a high-voltage electric cable circuit, and considerably more dangerous to approach than telegraph lines. Thanks to John Webb for the technical details.
