The Mincarlo is a historic trawler and fishing vessel built in Lowestoft.
She was built in the Brooke Marine yards in Lowestoft in 1961. Each of the vessels (of 3) cost 75,600. Mincarlo was the last vessel to be built in Lowestoft and have a Lowestoft engine installed. The type of trawler known as a sidewinder or side trawler; mainly catching cod, haddock, plaice, skate and sole. In the 1970s she was bought and converted for use on the oil/gas fields. After being replaced by a purpose built vessel the Mincarlo was purchased for 1 and started life in preservation. She is now open during the week in summer at heritage quay in Lowestoft.
