SU3086 : Uffington Horse: Whitehorse Hill

taken 19 years ago, near to Woolstone, Oxfordshire, England

Uffington Horse: Whitehorse Hill
Uffington Horse: Whitehorse Hill
The horse carved out of the chalky ground on Whitehorse Hill is probably the oldest one in England and is thought to be about 3000 years old. The horse would originally have been "fatter". The best view of the horse is from the air. This view is taken from near the car park in the adjacent square, as it becomes less visible the closer one gets. The horse is in the western half of the square.
