NT1777 : Cockle Burn
near to Cramond Bridge, Edinburgh, Great Britain

Cockle Burn
The Cockle Burn's course on to the sand flats is constrained by a rampart of large boulders. The reason for its name is evident here - the swathes of white on the sand are made up of zillions of empty cockle shells.
