SD9024 : Strange landform, Todmorden Moor

near to Clough Foot, Calderdale, Great Britain

Strange landform, Todmorden Moor
Strange landform, Todmorden Moor
The farm is Lower Hanging Shaw. The narrow ridge and deep cutting run straight for 300m, and the intake boundary wall is near the foot of the cutting rather than on the ridge. The cutting might be a 'rake' (a steep sunken track used to drive cattle onto the moor for Summer pasture) but seems a bit too deep.
