A definition of 'garron': 'a small and disdained horse'. They are used to bring the culled deer out of the mountains. However, I'm sure that they are not disdained. Later in the day I met a group of stalkers who were using a garron to transport a stag down from Beallach Dubh. No disdain there! If you are in the area, go armed with Polo Mints - the horses love them!
