Upminster Windmill
Upminster Windmill
Upminster Windmill was built in 1803 by a local farmer, James Nokes. It is a Grade 2 listed building. It was in use as a flour mill until 1910 then used to grind animal feed until 1934. After this time, the mill and its outbuildings became derelict. The outbuildings were demolished in the early 60s but repairs were started and the mill was able to be opened to the public in 1967.
