NX8952 : Low tide on the Mersehead Sands

taken 7 years ago, 3 km from Sandyhills, Dumfries And Galloway, Great Britain

Low tide on the Mersehead Sands
Low tide on the Mersehead Sands
There are hardly any features this far out on the Mersehead Sands. There is a small channel to the right and just beyond that is the sea at very low tide. In the distance is the line of the Barnourie Bank - - a notorious sandbank responsible for the wreck of many a ship in days gone by. Far across the Solway are the Cumbrian Fells.
