St James Church, Thurland Road, Bermondsey
St James Church is a familiar sight to anyone regularly travelling on trains into London Bridge station, and seeing its tower means that one is nearing the station. Pevsner calls it "the grandest church in Bermondsey, and the most expensive of the London Commissioners' churches (they gave £17,666)". The church was built by James Savage between 1827 and 1829.
