(A poor photo taken in low light). See also NN4873 : Aircraft wreckage in the Bealach Dubh. These are remnants of a WWII Wellington bomber (L7867 JM-J) that crashed on 10th December 1942 whilst on a Navigation Exercise from RAF Lossiemouth. One crew member (Sgt. P. E. Underwood - air gunner) survived. It would appear that this is not the actual crash site, which was in fact at a higher altitude on the slopes of Geal-charn. Most of the wreckage was brought to this site prior to being transported out by mules, leaving some remnants here.
