Geograph - photograph every grid square

When out to bag the square to the south of this today I was intrigued by this hamlet sitting as it does astride a small sandstone ridge.

The name of one cul-de-sac "Battle Ridge" in particular was interesting.

I now assume that the ridge now occupied by incongruous (probably) 1960's houses was in 1643 the “ high ground to the rear” mentioned here which would mean most of the battle probably took place in the square that I was here to “get” SJ 94 25
