Claymills Victorian Pumping Station - levelling the fire
Claymills Victorian Pumping Station - levelling the fire
Young volunteer Thomas is levelling the right hand fire and checking the grate for clinker on No. 4 boiler. The pressure gauge is just shy of 60 psi, the hoppers are full and there's at least half a glass full of water. The one working boiler is hard pressed to supply up to 27 engines and a site full of pipe with steam.
