SU3004 : Grazing at the edge of Hollands Wood, New Forest
taken 17 years ago, near to Balmerlawn, Hampshire, England
Grazing at the edge of Hollands Wood, New Forest
The western edge of Hollands Wood is bounded by the A337 road which is fenced to keep the commoners' stock from straying onto this busy through-route. The wet grassland that the pony is grazing on is the type of habitat that is supposed to be improved by the LIFE III project. In the background is a Wilts and Dorset bus headed for Brockenhurst, and beyond that the main entrance to New Park.
