Garden Centre at Ballagan
Garden Centre at Ballagan
The garden centre is on the west side of Stirling Road (part of that road is visible to the right of the blue car).

The first-edition OS map (c.1860) shows a building called Paddy's Castle at about NS40428341, at the southern end of what is now the garden centre's car park (i.e., close to the point from which the photograph was taken). It does not appear on subsequent maps (1899 and later). Its name is explained at LinkExternal link (Vale of Leven website); that explanation agrees with the OS Object Name Book's remark that the building was a "two-story dwelling house generally occupied by Irish workmen".
