A new type of currency, South Street
Sign on the St. Andrews Citizen Bookshop (J & G Innes Ltd). Baine, whom I assume from the dates to have been Wilson's apprentice, established America's first type foundry in 1787. It was his successors, Archibald Binney and James Ronaldson, both fellow Scots, who cast the first dollar sign.
