Built by Gibbs & Hogg at their Victoria Engine Works in 1898, it is the last surviving locomotive made in North Lanarkshire. It spent most of its working life at Loganlea Colliery in Midlothian, the last two years at Cardowan Colliery, and was in use until 1967.
