Ancient gatehouse of Kirkstall Abbey
Ancient gatehouse of Kirkstall Abbey
This is the north side of the original gatehouse, and the original gate would have been within the round arch which has been filled in. Visitors to the abbey would have entered the grounds through this gatehouse, and this would have been their view of the entrance as they arrived.
