Council Housing in Bilston
Bilston UDC was absorbed into Wolverhampton in 1966. The town had actively promoted municipal council housing schemes. Building land within the council boundary was limited and similar to Wolverhampton development took place on former colliery and industrial sites.
The major housing estates built by Bilston UDC were
1920s The Lunt Estate
1930s Villiers Estate
1940s Bradley
1950s Stowlawn Estate
1960s Green Park Estate

Parts of Coseley UDC transferred to Wolverhampton in 1966. This included a number of estates in the Ettingshall Park and Woodcross areas located between the Birmingham New Road and Sedgeley Beacon.
