Dating back to 1643 and located at the north-eastern corner of Lesnes Abbey Woods the pub was once the only building in the vicinity and would have had an uninterrupted view out over Erith Marshes to the River Thames. Despite its current listing elsewhere on the internet on a closed pub website it was very much open in November 2011.
