Godolphin House
Godolphin House
The north side of Godolphin House, a grade I listed mansion originally dating from the 15th century, with 16th and 17th century extensions before being altered in the 18th century and reduced in size in the 19th. Historically , up to the early 20th century, it was the home of the Earls of Godolphin and then the Dukes of Leeds, whose wealth was founded on Tin and Copper mining in the region. Since 2007 it has been in the hands of the National Trust, who already owned much of the surrounding estate.
