Poynton Lake
Poynton Lake (aka “the pool”) is an artificial lake covering approximately four acres. It was constructed in the 1760s by Sir George Warren who dammed a tributary of Poynton Brook, as part of a landscaping project. The dam itself served as the foundation for the turnpike. (
