Roadside quarry
Roadside quarry
Almost overgrown, the derelict quarry by Springhill Cottage is typical of the small openings that were once used as sources of building material. The rock here is assigned to the Silurian Bailey Hill Formation, an ill-defined assortment of sandstone, siltstone and mudstone.
